AWS Certified Developer-Associate Certification

Exam Content

In this article, we are going to touch-up all the information which candidate needs to have to plan his/her study and prepare for the certification exam.

AWS Certified Developer-Associate certificate exam is one of the associate level exams. AWS has three certification exams under Associate level category:

1.       AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate Certificate

2.       AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate Certificate

3.       AWS Certified Developer Associate Certificate

AWS Certified Developer Associate Certificate exam is mainly targeted to the candidates who wants to build their career in Developer Domain. With this certificate candidate will be demonstrating their proficiency in developing, debugging and deploying application on the AWS Cloud.

Following roles, but not limited to this list, can go for this certification:

 v  Software Engineer

 v  Software Developer

 v  Database Developer

 v  Support Engineer

 v  Any role who Developing/Supporting application in AWS Cloud

This Certificate exam validates candidate's ability on topics:

v  AWS services and their uses

v  Best AWS architecture practices.

v  Develop, deploy, and debug applications on the AWS Cloud.

v  Use of AWS service APIs, SDKs, and CLI

v  Understanding on shared responsibility model of AWS,

v  Application lifecycle management,

v  Using and interacting with AWS services

v  Best AWS Security practices

Recommended Exam Prerequisites

AWS recommended below mentioned basic criteria to be able to take AWS Certified Developer Associate Certification exam:

v  One or more years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining an AWS based application.

v  In-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language

v  Develop, debug, and deploy cloud-based applications on the AWS platform

Question Type

There will be 65 questions in the exam and these questions are of two types of questions on the examination:

v  Multiple choice:  Has one correct response and three incorrect responses (distractors).

v  Multiple response: Has two or more correct responses out of five or more options.

Exam Duration

v  Exam is 130 minutes

Note: it is recommended to join the exam 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time as candidate needs to fill out some formalities in order that exam to start.

Exam Fee

v  USD 150 + Applicable Taxes (based on candidate’s country)

Passing Marks

v  AWS Certified Developer Associate Certificate examination is a pass or fail exam.

v  Results for the examination are reported as a score from 100–1000 with a minimum passing score of 700.

v  Score report contains classifications of your performance at each section level.

v  You do not need to “pass” the individual sections.

v  There is no negative marking for wrong answer.

Refactoring in its simplest form means changing application code for betterment of the application. You will get questions in exam which will test your understanding about refactoring and their benefits:

v  The primary goal is to improve performance, quality, and maintainability of the application.

v  Refactoring of the application for AWS enables availability, scalability, and reliability of the application.

v  Optimize application to best use AWS services and features
